C-Section Prep:
A little information "just in case" goes a long way in helping you feel calm, safe, and empowered in the moment.
If you don't end up needing it, that's great. You'll leave with a better understanding of what friends or family may experience.
And if you do end up needing it, you'll be happy you took the time.

So, let's pull back the curtain a little.
(Ba-dum ching! See what we did there?)
Real talk:
C-sections can be intense,
but they don't have to be scary.
It is often the fear of the unknown
that makes us feel more anxious.
They can also be calm and empowering.

before our c-section.
WHAT ARE C-SECTIONS LIKE?
WHAT SHOULD I PLAN AHEAD FOR?
-
It's good to just be aware that a typical c-section stay is 3-5 days. So having a general back-up plan for pet-care or child-care for a surprise extended stay can really help.
HOW CAN I BEST PREPARE FOR RECOVERY?
-
The hospital should give guidance the first few days
-
Once home, check out our "post" c-section page for at-home tips.
ANY TIPS FOR HOW I SHOULD MENTALLY APPROACH IT?
-
Breathing or meditation exercises can be helpful for both labor and c-sections.
-
Find 2-3 affirmation phrases or a mental image that keeps you positive and calm that you can focus on, and ask your partner to help remind you of them.
-
Know that we have plenty of resources here to help you on the other side :)
